Only an Approved Home Care Package Provider is able to host Home Care Packages. Approved Providers have had to become registered with the Department of Health. They will have satisfied both legal and social requirements in order to administer packages on behalf of consumers.

Whereas, service providers are companies that provide services or hours of care, such as shopping, housekeeping, transportation, disability care etc.

Some Home Care Package Providers are also service providers and they employ their own direct carers. Certain Providers will suggest you only use their own services and carers, but it is expected that all Providers should allow you to use external service providers as well. If your Provider doesn’t give you this option, you might want to consider switching to one that offers more choice and control with your funding.

Yes, we allow you to bring your own suppliers on board with us as long as they are reputable providers and have the qualifications needed to provide aged care services.

At Lucky Care we don’t lock you into using our own aged care staff at inflated costs, instead we broker our services nationally. This means you have the freedom to choose and find carers right for your situation, right on the Gold Coast.

Yes, we offer support on the Gold Coast. We are a national company which means wherever you live in Australia, we can help you maximise the funds available from your Home Care Package.

If we don’t have your required care services set up on the Gold Coast, we can help you source and set up agreements with carers and services local to you. This service is free of charge.

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) offers entry-level assistance for seniors who need basic support with everyday tasks like cleaning, shopping, or transport. It’s designed to help you maintain your independence with minimal out-of-pocket costs.

Home Care Packages, on the other hand, provide more comprehensive and flexible care for those with higher needs, including personal care, nursing, and home modifications.

To access either program, you’ll need to go through an application process that includes an assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) or Regional Assessment Service (RAS). This assessment determines your eligibility and ensures you’re matched with the level of care that best supports your needs.
