A Home Care Package can provide valuable care services for seniors and their families living with dementia. It offers tailored services such as personal care, social support, and respite care, as well as access to excellent health professionals like dementia advisors and allied health therapists. These services are designed to enhance quality of life, promote independence, and provide relief for primary carers.
Palliative care is specialised medical care focused on providing relief from the symptoms, pain, and emotional stress of a serious illness. It aims to improve the quality of life for both the recipient and their family by offering holistic support that addresses physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs. Palliative care can be provided alongside curative treatments or as the main focus of care in advanced stages of illness.
Home Care Packages are primarily designed to support older Australians in managing daily living and maintaining independence. If you are eligible for a Home Care Package you can cater your services to match your care needs, including any disability you may have. If you receive NDIS funding, you will not be able to accept a Home Care Package in conjunction with this. Once you turn 65, you will have to transition from the NDIS program to the HCP or other forms of government funded aged care support.
